The Siegel Family
Just wanted to share a HAPPY NEW YEAR thought....We've so enjoyed having Chad, Lindsey, Shepherd and Rauly with us these past few days....on New Year's, we were all telling each other Happy New Year, and Shepherd kept repeating HAPPY NEW YOU. I tried to get Shepherd to say Happy New YEAR....but every time he would insist no, Happy New YOU. I finally gave up tryng to convince him and started thinking maybe that's not a bad idea....focusing on making ourselves new this year reminded me of Romans 12:2: "Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the RENEWING of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and pefect will." II Corinthians 5:17 tells us "if any one is in Christ, he is a NEW creation; the old has gone, the new has come." II Corinthians 4:16-18: Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being RENEWED day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. HAPPY NEW YOU!!!!

Mom, thanks for this reminder! I thought it was funny that Shepherd kept saying "Happy New You", but I hadn't thought about any deeper meaning in it....thanks for bringing these thoughts and scriptures to mind!
Love,
Jenny
